Shop Water Testing Guidelines
If you prefer to bring a water sample to our shop for testing, please make sure to:
- Use a clean container (not metal) to collect the sample.
- Take the sample from at least 400mm below the water surface to ensure an accurate representation of your pool's water quality.
What a Water Test Tells Us
A water test provides crucial information about your pool's chemistry, including:
- pH Levels: Ensures the water is neither too acidic nor too alkaline, which can affect swimmer comfort and the efficiency of your pool chemicals.
- Chlorine or Sanitiser Levels: Checks that there is enough chlorine or other sanitiser to keep the water free from harmful bacteria and algae.
- Alkalinity: Helps stabilise the pH levels, making it easier to maintain a balanced pool environment.
- Calcium Hardness: Measures the water's calcium content to prevent damage to your pool's surfaces and equipment.
- Cyanuric Acid Levels: Indicates how well the chlorine is being protected from sunlight, ensuring the sanitiser remains effective.
By understanding these factors, we can adjust the water chemistry to maintain a safe and healthy swimming environment for everyone.
Frequency Options: Weekly, Fortnightly, or Monthly.
